The Hurricane Ian Recovery Fund (“HIRF”), a committee administered fund, has been established to assist individuals and businesses of the Boca Grande community in providing financial support due to hardships incurred with Hurricane Ian.

If you of questions about your assistance, please call FEMA at 800-621-3362. If you use a relay service, please provide FEMA the number for that service. It can also be added to your file for future reference.
How to Locate a Disaster Recovery Center
Visit fema.gov/drc, DisasterAssistance.gov, call the FEMA Helpline, or send a text to 43362. When sending the text, type “DRC” and include your zip code.
What Can You Do with Your Online Disaster Assistance Account
- Check your application status.
- Receive important information and notifications regarding your application.
- Upload document and/or update your application information.
Home Cleanup Assistance
If you need assistance cleaning up damage from Hurricane Ian, call 1-800-451-1954. Crisis Cleanup will connect you with volunteers from local relief organizations, community groups and faith communities who may be able to assist with:
- Cutting up fallen trees
- Drywall, flooring and appliance removal to curb Tarping Roofs
- Debris removal to curb Mold mitigation
All services are free, but service is not guaranteed due to overwhelming need. The 1-800-451-1954 hotline will remain open through Friday, Oct. 28, 2022.
Mental Health
Call or text the Disaster Distress Helpline at 1-800-985-5990.
The national hotline provides free 24/7, crisis counseling for people who are experiencing emotional distress. Deaf and hard of hearing ASL callerscan use a videophone or ASL Now.
SBA disaster loans
SBA disaster loans are now available to businesses and residents in Florida following the Hurricane Ian disaster declaration. Applicants may apply at disasterloanassistance.sba.gov under declaration #17644. For help, call 800-659-2955 or email DisasterCustomerService@sba.gov
The Operation Blue Roof Program
The Operation Blue Roof Program will provide a temporary blue covering with fiber-reinforced sheeting to help reduce further damage to property until permanent repairs can be made. After the blue roof is installed, the structure is declared habitable. Not all roof types and locations qualify for the program.
The initial sign-up period will end on Oct. 23.

American Red Cross
If you need a safe place to stay or a hot meal, find open shelters on redcross.org, the free Red Cross Emergencyapp or by calling 1-800-RED CROSS (800-733-2767) and selecting the disaster option.

Hotline callers may get help with legal issues like:
- FEMA and SBA financial benefits
- Home repair contracts and property insurance claims
- Re-doing wills and other important legal documents destroyed in the disaster
- Price gouging, scams, or identity theft

Englewood Helping Hand

Englewood Helping Hand continues to distribute food on Wednesdays and Thursdays 8:30am–1pm. Their phone number is 941-474-5864 and they have moved into their new building on the Englewood United Methodist Church campus at 700 E. Dearborn St, Englewood, FL 34223.
St. David’s Episcopal Church Jubilee Center

The food pantry distributes food on Monday and Wednesday from 10:00am–noon. They are located at 401 S. Broadway, Englewood, FL 34223 behind Beall’s Outlet. (Note: The Jublilee Center lost its clothes closet so they no longer have clothing available.)
Rotary Club Distribution Warehouse
(food and supplies distribution)
This is a distribution warehouse for post hurricane supplies and is located in the Lemon Bay Shopping Center at 1855 Englewood Road, Englewood, FL 34223 in the old K-Mart building. The warehouse is open Monday-Thursday from 4–6pm for people to stop by and pick up what they need (cleaning supplies, water, food, generators, etc.)
Medical Needs
Englewood Community Care Clinic
The Englewood Community Care Clinic is back open and providing free medical care to area residents who do not have health insurance on Mondays and Thursdays starting at 5pm. The clinic is located in the West County Annex building at 6868 San Casa Drive, Englewood, FL 34224.
