The Boca Grande Holiday Season began with our annual Christmas Tree Lighting. This year we teamed up with the Royal Palm Players for an extra special tree lighting!
The traditional Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony was held on Sunday, December 3rd, at 5:00 pm in front of Hudson’s and was led by Woman’s Club President Meg Pierce. The holiday blessing was presented by Mother Michelle of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church. Island School students were adorable in nativity scene costumes. The gathering included carols led by Julia Pierce and the Boca Beaux, and, of course, there were cookies to enjoy! A new and beautiful tree made its inaugural appearance this year, thanks to a thoughtful donation from Bayne and Jeanie Stevenson.
Following the traditional Christmas Tree Lighting, everyone was invited to extend the evening by following Santa on his golfcart/sleigh to the Community Center, where there was more caroling led by our own RPP members.
